Brentford Football Club Chief Executive Officer Andrew Mills and Team Manager Andy Scott were both in attendance at the Football League Tribunal in London held today to decide upon the transfer monies to be paid by Southampton following the transfer of Ryan Dickson to the League One side during the close season as the two clubs could not reach agreement earlier.
The tribunal decided to find as follows:
£125,000 payable immediately;
£25,000 on completion of 10 first team competitive appearances
£25,000 on completion of 20 first team competitive appearances
£25,000 on completion of 30 first team competitive appearances
£25,000 on completion of 40 first team competitive appearances
In addition Southampton will pay a further £25,000 should they achieve promotion.
There is also a 20% sell on clause should Ryan Dickson be transferred on.
On announcing the findings of the Tribunal to the Website, Andrew Mills said: "Over all I think the Compensation Committee took into account the strength of our presentation and set a fee considerably higher than the offer made by Southampton. However that said I am still disappointed with the figure as we felt that given the performances shown by Ryan on a regular basis and the level to which his overall game has now gone thanks to the work put in by Andy and his coaching staff, he was worthy of a higher fee, which is why we demanded that from the outset. That said I would thank the Compensation Committee for their careful consideration and I am pleased to have reached a settlement as we can now move on with putting the final pieces of the jigsaw together as we prepare for the forthcoming season".
