Brentford have finally completed negotiations with Championship club Ipswich Town to secure the services of Pim Balkestein on a 3 year contract.

The popular 23 year old Dutch defender spent a very successful loan period at Griffin Park last season during which time he made 15 appearances scoring one goal.

On signing the tall defender Bees Manager Andy Scott said: "Once again I`m delighted with this signing. Pim will bring the same quality to the side that he did during his loan spell last season. In the fifteen games he played for us he played a major role in our finishing position and having secured his signature on a long term deal I believe he will be a significant component as we strive to achieve the ambitions of the football club."
