Brentford midfield player Toumani Diagouraga described the home defeat to Walsall as "very frustrating".
The 23-year-old was playing his first game of the season after the birth of his son and admitted at half time, when The Bees had just levelled through Gary Alexander after falling behind, he thought they would go on to win.
But even though the Midlands side took the points through a Julian Gary goal, Diagouraga was confident The Bees would get it right sooner rather than later.
"I thought we did enough to win the game," said Diagouraga. "It's very frustrating.
"We made a few mistakes and we got punished.
"I thought [the win] was going to come [at half time]. All we have to do was the same was we had been doing.
"We started very slowly in the second half and got punished for it.
"I think we are getting there, slowly but surely, it's just a matter of time.
"The manager has brought in quality players and we can do better than last year.
"We have lost the first two games but it is only six points, I'm sure we will do better."
"There is no reason to panic."
Diagouraga said he was into the swing of the season after missing the first two games as his son was born last Saturday and said he was raring to go after his summer move
"Nothing can replace the birth of your son," said Diagouraga.
He continued: "The manager at Peterborough [United, Gary Johnson] wanted to me to go. I thought he would take a look at me and [make a decision] after a few weeks, but I had to go.
"Brentford are in the same league, [Andy Scott] said he wanted me.
"I missed the first two weeks of pre-season and it was hard but we have a good squad, good players, we will achieve our goals."
