Marcus Bean said it was a great feeling to head the winning goal as Brentford beat Hull City in the Carling Cup.
The midfield man scored for the first time since March 2009 as he dived full stretch to power home a Charlie MacDonald cut back.
It completed a great comeback by The Bees as they recovered from going a goal down to beat Championship Hull and progress to the Third Round of the competition for the first time since 1991.
Bean said: "It's been more than a year since I last scored and it's a great feeling.
"The boys thoroughly deserved the win.
"I felt we were on top and pretty comfortable throughout, apart from five or ten minutes we dominated the game.
"It would have been a travesty if we had not won.
"When their keeper makes the kind of save he did from Gary Alexander's header [with about 20 minutes remaining] you have to start thinking it might not be your day.
"But the boys dug in and we had confidence it would come."
Bean admitted the squad had used the potential of a Third Round tie against one of the country's biggest clubs as motivation for the game.
And he had no doubts where he would like the draw to take The Bees.
"I would like to play against Liverpool," said Bean. That's the team I support.
"It would be great to play away at Anfield but any big team away would be a great experience."
