Brentford manager Andy Scott admitted his team needed to pick up points soon after watching them lose their third game in four League One outings.
The Bees were beaten 3-1 by Rochdale, conceding two goals in two minutes around the hour mark after having the better of the first half.
Scott admitted it was very frustrating and said his team were gifting goals that they were not getting themselves.
"We keep giving ourselves a mountain to climb," he said. "We had got back into the game and were in the ascendency at the end of the first half
"At half time we said we didn't want to give them anything to hold on to.
"They have scored two weak goals.
"The second was a give and go and we accepted it and the third was the same.
"We don't get given opportunities like that - we give away goals, it's not good enough.
"It's no good coming in at the end and understanding what went wrong, we need to take responsibility.
"Rochdale defended well and did the right things, we didn't.
"As soon as they got the second that was it, our response wasn't good enough.
"We have given five goals away in our last two home league games, it's not good enough.
"We didn't do the basics right.
"It's very frustrating. We have one point from four league games.
"I want points and I want clean sheets.
"We have got to win games and pick up points quickly."
Scott admitted he was more interested in picking up points than entertainment at the moment and said he was disappointed with everything his team had done defensively.
"There has got to be a hell of a lot more work on the training ground," added Scott. "It's no good doing it in fits and starts.
"We have made basic errors after session after session in training.
"We need 90 minute performances.
"We have enough going forward but it's no good if we are leaking goals."
