2008/2009 Season
Last season, their fifth consecutive season in League One, saw them finish tenth, their lowest placing since 2005/06 when they also finished tenth.
Their away goals against total of 41 was equal to that of Southend and only three of the four relegated clubs had a worse record.

Leading Scorer

Their leading goalscorer was Lee Hughes with 18 goals including an early season hat trick against Cheltenham Town. He finished the season on loan at Blackpool scoring in their final game of the season at Charlton.
Manager

The Latics had three managers during the season. John Sheridan left the club by mutual consent after three years at the helm in March 2009. Former boss Joe Royle was caretaker manager for just over a month whilst ex Darlington Manager Dave Penney was appointed at the end of the season.
Last League Meeting
Our last meeting was on Sunday 25th March 2007 when we played out a 2-2 draw at Griffin Park (4,720), Garry Richards and Joe Keith were the scorers. This was a match in which we increased our lead to 2-0 in the 85th minute only to concede two goals to Leon Clarke including a last minute penalty.
Earlier in the season we lost 0-3 at Oldham (4,708).

Previous Highlights
A real lowlight occurred in what was an otherwise very successful season. Having drawn 1-1 away to The Latics (Darren Freeman pen) in front of 4,217 at a freezing Boundary Park in the 2nd Round of the FA Cup the excitement was at fever pitch for the replay, as the winners had been drawn at home to Chelsea. But it was a bitter disappointment for The Bees in front of the Sky cameras as after sharing four goals (Owusu, Freeman) we lost the penalty shoot out 2-4.
Ground
Boundary Park has been Oldham's home since 1904. They have shared the ground for the past seven years with Oldham RLFC. Its current capacity is 10,638 but it has held 47,671 for an FA Cup tie against Sheffield Wednesday. It is known as the coldest ground in the country and the second highest ground (behind The Hawthorns, home to WBA).
Attendances
Their average League attendance last season was 5,636 with a high of 8,901 against Leicester City in October, and a low of 3,745 against Bristol Rovers in February.
Mileage
Oldham, 211 miles from Brentford, is the fourth longest distance club to us this season.
