THE BRENTFORD LIFELINE SOCIETY
As the 23rd Anniversary of the formation of The Brentford Lifeline Society draws near, the integral part their members play in their support of the Club continues unabated and is well documented.
The underlying basis for the Society's formation back in 1986 was to assist and promote Brentford Football Club in the best possible way and with the new era of closer co-operation between all fund raising entities that exists within the Club, the Lifeline Society are keen to support the Club in forward thinking projects, both on and off the field, whether that be independently or in unison with others.
Bees Manager Andy Scott says:" Lifeline's support in part funding last season's mid season break to Spain made the trip possible, whilst the provision of funds to enable us to extend Ben Hamer here until the end of last season, and to sign Sam Wood during the close season further demonstrated how Lifeline and their members are helping the Club move on".
Lifeline Society Chairman Denis Smith says: "At a time when the Club appears to be making great strides both on the pitch under Andy Scott and also off the field with the projected plans for both Griffin Park and the new "hoped for" stadium at Lionel Road, we must be fully supportive of the needs of the Club and support it as best we can, whenever we can. We, as supporters, can best do that by signing up to Lifeline or Bees United, preferably both, as these extra income streams are integral to the existence of our Club".
The subscription of £2 per week (£104 per year) remains today as it did almost 23 years ago and Lifeline's agreed policy of supporting specific projects allows members the opportunity to see the tangible rewards that their subscriptions merit.
Since the inaugural meeting at Hounslow Civic Centre on 16th January 1986 almost £2 million has been donated to the Club through Lifeline which more recently has included the funds enabling Ealing Road to be covered and reopened as a home end, the refurbishment of the Jersey Road Training Ground, the acquisition of players, the modernisation of some of the Club's hospitality facilities, the updating of the match commentary facilities offered to visually impaired supporters, as well as providing thousands of prizes including "Once in a Lifetime" Holidays and Hospitality packages to it's members.
But for us to continue as we proudly have for the past 22 years we need your support. If you are already a member of the Brentford Lifeline Society, thank you for your continued support. If you are not yet a member, please take this opportunity to sign up and help us as we continue to provide crucial financial support to Brentford Football Club, as and when we can, and to underline the very reason the Society was formed…to give a lifeline to the parent club.
